$4m Grant For Stammering Research

Ehud Yairi, University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign has been awarded a $4m grant entitled "Stuttering Subtypes and Associated Risk Factors" from the National Institutes of Health, National Insitute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.

This grant will be co-ordinated across a number of Universities in the USA and the project will study a single set of participants in the areas of language, epidemiology, speech motor skills and personality. It is the largest grant of its kind ever and promises to be the most comprehensive study of stammering in the world.

Ehud Yairi will be presenting details of the study at the Oxford Dysfluency Conference in June.
