Music Conquers Stammer

A teenager who has been using music to help overcome his stammer has raised £700 for the Michael Palin Centre by staging his own solo concert.

Harry Pinnock, 17, of Thatcher's Drive played to a packed Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead last month.

Having had a severe stammer, Harry has been learning to conquer his stammer at sessions at the Centre and has repayed it for its help through the concert. The Centre had encouraged Harry, who plays the piano, keyboard, bass guitar and sings, to work at his music.

The Centre would like to place their thanks to Harry on record, are delighted that they have been able to help Harry with his speech and wish him good luck both with his speech and with his music.

James (16) has had therapy on and off since he was four and was at first reluctant to join the group intensive course for young adults.

However he told his parents afterwards that meeting others with the same problem had been really helpful and that they were all quite normal and really good fun!
